He finally asked me to hang out and you better believe I said yes. I guess I should have played a little hard to get but I had waited 3 months so playing hard to get was out of the picture. I had to wait like 4 days until our date. If you know me I am the most impatient person ever so waiting 4 days was tough business. When he picked me up I felt like a little girl on Christmas morning. I tried to act cool but I’m pretty sure I made a fool out of myself. First we went to subway and got some dinner to take on our little adventure. Next we went on a jeep ride. Once we got to the top of the mountain we ate our sandwiches. Tip of advice- If you are going on a date with a cute guy DON’T I repeat DON’T get a lot of mustard and mayo. Tell them to put it on lightly. I had mustard and mayo shooting out of my sandwich every which way. It got on my pants, the blanket and all over my face. Oh laws, I was a mess. When he took me home I was ready to kiss that boy. I’m not a kiss on the first date kind of girl but if he would have kissed me I definitely wouldn’t have stopped him. J But no kiss for me. We hung out pretty much every day after that. From day 1 he had my heart. Cheesy yes but I knew there was something different about this guy. And it wasn’t just his mighty fine looks.
The first kiss-
Hmmm… Okay so remember me the most impatient girl ever? Well, Tan made me wait for a kiss for like 2 weeks, 2 WEEKS guys! That’s a lot when I had been wanting a kiss from day 1. Confession: I almost kissed him because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was ready to give him a wedgie, stick my already licked finger in his ear or something not to pleasant. Hold up, let’s get something straight before I continue. I’m not a psychopath or a lip skank. I knew there was something special from day 1 and I had to see if there was a connection. I was terrified because I was actually falling for this boy and I didn’t even think this was possible after my divorce.
One day he called me and told me to wear something nice because he was taking me on a surprise date. I knew this had to be the time for the first kiss. I mean hello, perfect opportunity right? I had my friends Annie and Kenna help me get all ready. 20 shirts later I finally found the 1. First we went to CafĂ© Sabor then we went mini golfing. It was so fun minus the wearing high heels part. Another tip of advice- If you’re in high heels and your ball falls in between some rocks in the water, let your date get it, PLEASE! While basically in the splits, I slipped on the rock and twisted my foot. Real classy right? I'm sure my pants felt the same way with a big hole in the butt. I guess it gave Tan a nice laugh and I attempted to act all tough, but inside I was dying. After that we finished our game and went to a look out spot up in Canyon Ridge. I was so ready for this kiss. My heart was racing and I was glossed up and ready to go. We talked for about 15 minutes and then BAM, sprinklers!! After freaking out I thought to myself, hmm this might be romantic. But to the jeep we went with no kiss. :( We started to head back to my apartment and part of me wanted to cry. My mind was going crazy. Does he not want to kiss me because I just made a fool out of myself? Would it be weird if I kissed him first? Maybe I should just do it? What if he doesn’t want to kiss me? What if I forgot how to kiss? Maybe he’s waiting for the perfect moment? (You all know you’ve been there.) We got to the light about a block from my house and it was red. We stopped and it stayed red for about 4 minutes. We were so confused and didn’t know why it wasn’t changing. We waited another 3 minutes and still nothing! Next thing I know Tan looks over at me and says, “Maybe this is our sign?”
Kassidy, “Sign???”
Tanner, “Ya, that I should kiss you!”I’ll spare you the juicy details but he KISSED ME! And it was good, so worth the 288 hours, 10 minutes and 15 seconds that I had to wait. I was pretty proud at that very moment and wanted to give myself a fist bump because I didn’t have to kiss him first! The light stayed red for another 5 minutes until a car came through the intersection. It finally turned green and he took me home. Guys this is no joke. The light really stayed red for a little over 10 minutes and we both couldn’t believe it. But hey I am not complaining one bit. I kind of enjoy red lights now. It’s a good excuse to make my cute husband lay one on me.
Everything was just so easy with Tan. I was so held back
with a lot of guys and never wanted to get serious. Every time it got serious I
pulled back. He took all my fears away and I’ve honestly never had a doubt
about this boy. Some days I literally pinch myself to make sure I’m awake. It’s
official, I am awake and I am completely head over heels!
PS- With his good looks we are bound to have adorable children. :)
